A malicious attacker could cause threads to hold up forever in the EJB server by writing a sequence of bytes corresponding to the expected messages of a successful EJB client request, but omitting the ACK messages, or just tamper with jboss-remoting code, deleting the lines that send the ACK message from the EJB client code resulting in a denial of service. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to system availability.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.9},"cwes":["CWE-400"],"references":["https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1905796","https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1905796"],"products":["redhat:jboss-remoting"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:18:09.669877188+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2020-35510","score":0.01089,"percentile":0.65364,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-p6j8-hgv5-m35g","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-p6j8-hgv5-m35g","summary":"Uncontrolled Resource Consumption in jboss-remoting","modified":"2023-11-08T04:03:34.443926Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"org.jboss.remoting:jboss-remoting","purl":"pkg:maven/org.jboss.remoting/jboss-remoting","ranges":["<5.0.20.Final"],"fixed":["5.0.20.Final"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
