In cron-utils before version 9.1.3, a template Injection vulnerability is present. This enables attackers to inject arbitrary Java EL expressions, leading to unauthenticated Remote Code Execution (RCE) vulnerability. Only projects using the @Cron annotation to validate untrusted Cron expressions are affected. This issue was patched in version 9.1.3.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.1},"cwes":["CWE-74"],"references":["https://github.com/jmrozanec/cron-utils/commit/4cf373f7352f5d95f0bf6512af8af326b31c835e","https://github.com/jmrozanec/cron-utils/issues/461","https://github.com/jmrozanec/cron-utils/security/advisories/GHSA-pfj3-56hm-jwq5","https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/r390bb7630b7ea8f02bf7adbbe69c0ae8b562c527d663c543d965f959%40%3Cgitbox.hive.apache.org%3E","https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/r432a69a1a85cbcb1f1bad2aa0fbfce0367bf894bf917f6ed7118e7f0%40%3Cissues.hive.apache.org%3E"],"products":["cron-utils_project:cron-utils"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:11:20.317016139+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2020-26238","score":0.04204,"percentile":0.90966,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-pfj3-56hm-jwq5","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-pfj3-56hm-jwq5","summary":"Template injection in cron-utils","modified":"2026-07-08T06:29:38.522978395Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"com.cronutils:cron-utils","purl":"pkg:maven/com.cronutils/cron-utils","ranges":["<9.1.3"],"fixed":["9.1.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
