{"cve":"CVE-2020-25664","nvd":{"published":"2020-12-08T21:15:12.497","modified":"2026-06-17T03:07:05.160","status":"Modified","description":"In WriteOnePNGImage() of the PNG coder at coders/png.c, an improper call to AcquireVirtualMemory() and memset() allows for an out-of-bounds write later when PopShortPixel() from MagickCore/quantum-private.h is called. The patch fixes the calls by adding 256 to rowbytes. An attacker who is able to supply a specially crafted image could affect availability with a low impact to data integrity. This flaw affects ImageMagick versions prior to 6.9.10-68 and 7.0.8-68.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:H","score":6.1},"cwes":["CWE-122"],"references":["https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1891605","https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/Z3J6D7POCQYQKNVRDYLTTPM5SQC3WVTR/","https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1891605","https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/Z3J6D7POCQYQKNVRDYLTTPM5SQC3WVTR/"],"products":["fedoraproject:fedora","imagemagick:imagemagick"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:11:20.317016139+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2020-25664","score":0.00719,"percentile":0.53904,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
