{"cve":"CVE-2020-1749","nvd":{"published":"2020-09-09T15:15:10.300","modified":"2026-06-17T03:02:19.653","status":"Modified","description":"A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's implementation of some networking protocols in IPsec, such as VXLAN and GENEVE tunnels over IPv6. When an encrypted tunnel is created between two hosts, the kernel isn't correctly routing tunneled data over the encrypted link; rather sending the data unencrypted. This would allow anyone in between the two endpoints to read the traffic unencrypted. The main threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-319"],"references":["https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=CVE-2020-1749","https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20201222-0001/","https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=CVE-2020-1749","https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20201222-0001/"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel","redhat:enterprise_linux","redhat:enterprise_mrg"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:09:20.498348299+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2020-1749","score":0.0124,"percentile":0.69158,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
