This could lead to the injection of unwanted information into a chart. This issue has been patched in Helm 3.3.2 and 2.16.11. A possible workaround is to manually review the `dependencies` field of any untrusted chart, verifying that the `alias` field is either not used, or (if used) does not contain newlines or path characters.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","score":2.7},"cwes":["CWE-74","CWE-20"],"references":["https://github.com/helm/helm/commit/e7c281564d8306e1dcf8023d97f972449ad74850","https://github.com/helm/helm/security/advisories/GHSA-9vp5-m38w-j776","https://github.com/helm/helm/commit/e7c281564d8306e1dcf8023d97f972449ad74850","https://github.com/helm/helm/security/advisories/GHSA-9vp5-m38w-j776"],"products":["helm:helm"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:09:53.489947993+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2020-15184","score":0.01029,"percentile":0.63683,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-9vp5-m38w-j776","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-9vp5-m38w-j776","summary":"Aliases are never checked in helm","modified":"2026-07-08T06:28:46.803089698Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"helm.sh/helm/v3","purl":"pkg:golang/helm.sh/helm/v3","ranges":[">=3.0.0 <3.3.2"],"fixed":["3.3.2"]},{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"helm.sh/helm","purl":"pkg:golang/helm.sh/helm","ranges":["<2.16.11"],"fixed":["2.16.11"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
