All FreeRDP clients are affected. The input rectangles from the server are not checked against local surface coordinates and blindly accepted. A malicious server can send data that will crash the client later on (invalid length arguments to a `memcpy`) This has been fixed in 2.2.0. As a workaround, stop using command line arguments /gfx, /gfx-h264 and /network:auto","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L","score":3.5},"cwes":["CWE-190","CWE-680"],"references":["http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2020-09/msg00010.html","https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/blob/616af2d5b86dc24c7b3e89870dbcffd841d9a535/ChangeLog#L4","https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/pull/6382","https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/security/advisories/GHSA-4r38-6hq7-j3j9","https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2023/10/msg00008.html"],"products":["canonical:ubuntu_linux","debian:debian_linux","fedoraproject:fedora","freerdp:freerdp","opensuse:leap"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:06:22.076270124+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2020-15103","score":0.01459,"percentile":0.73558,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
