{"cve":"CVE-2020-15094","nvd":{"published":"2020-09-02T18:15:11.187","modified":"2026-06-17T02:56:02.457","status":"Modified","description":"In Symfony before versions 4.4.13 and 5.1.5, the CachingHttpClient class from the HttpClient Symfony component relies on the HttpCache class to handle requests. HttpCache uses internal headers like X-Body-Eval and X-Body-File to control the restoration of cached responses. The class was initially written with surrogate caching and ESI support in mind (all HTTP calls come from a trusted backend in that scenario). But when used by CachingHttpClient and if an attacker can control the response for a request being made by the CachingHttpClient, remote code execution is possible. This has been fixed in versions 4.4.13 and 5.1.5.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-212"],"references":["https://github.com/symfony/symfony/commit/d9910e0b33a2e0f993abff41c6fbc86951b66d78","https://github.com/symfony/symfony/security/advisories/GHSA-754h-5r27-7x3r","https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/HNGUWOEETOFVH4PN3I3YO4QZHQ4AUKF3/","https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/VAQJXAKWPMWB7OL6QPG2ZSEQZYYPU5RC/","https://packagist.org/packages/symfony/http-kernel"],"products":["fedoraproject:fedora","sensiolabs:httpclient","sensiolabs:symfony"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:09:20.498348299+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2020-15094","score":0.03043,"percentile":0.8753,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
