{"cve":"CVE-2020-14372","nvd":{"published":"2021-03-03T17:15:11.583","modified":"2026-06-17T02:54:38.667","status":"Modified","description":"A flaw was found in grub2 in versions prior to 2.06, where it incorrectly enables the usage of the ACPI command when Secure Boot is enabled. This flaw allows an attacker with privileged access to craft a Secondary System Description Table (SSDT) containing code to overwrite the Linux kernel lockdown variable content directly into memory. The table is further loaded and executed by the kernel, defeating its Secure Boot lockdown and allowing the attacker to load unsigned code. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality and integrity, as well as system availability.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:H/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-184"],"references":["https://access.redhat.com/security/vulnerabilities/RHSB-2021-003","https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1873150","https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/message/ZWZ36QK4IKU6MWDWNOOWKPH3WXZBHT2R/","https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202104-05","https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20210416-0004/"],"products":["fedoraproject:fedora","gnu:grub2","netapp:cloud_backup","netapp:ontap_select_deploy_administration_utility","redhat:enterprise_linux","redhat:enterprise_linux_server_aus","redhat:enterprise_linux_server_eus","redhat:enterprise_linux_server_tus","redhat:enterprise_linux_workstation"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:15:50.279857260+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2020-14372","score":0.01738,"percentile":0.77714,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
