Applications that use the library to process untrusted input may be vulnerable to this flaw. This flaw allows an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system by abusing the python/object/new constructor. This flaw is due to an incomplete fix for CVE-2020-1747.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-20"],"references":["https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1860466","https://github.com/SeldonIO/seldon-core/issues/2252","https://github.com/yaml/pyyaml/issues/420","https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpuapr2022.html","https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpujul2022.html"],"products":["oracle:communications_cloud_native_core_network_function_cloud_native_environment","pyyaml:pyyaml"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:14:10.479542811+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2020-14343","score":0.05984,"percentile":0.93312,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-8q59-q68h-6hv4","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-8q59-q68h-6hv4","summary":"Improper Input Validation in PyYAML","modified":"2026-02-04T03:33:10.792778Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"pyyaml","purl":"pkg:pypi/pyyaml","ranges":["<5.4"],"fixed":["5.4"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2021-142","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2021-142","summary":"","modified":"2023-11-08T04:02:26.414885Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"pyyaml","purl":"pkg:pypi/pyyaml","ranges":["<5.4"],"fixed":["5.4"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
