There is potential abuse of /service/upload servlet in the webmail subsystem. A user can upload executable files (exe,sh,bat, jar) in the Contact section of the mailbox as an avatar image for a contact. A user will receive a \"Corrupt File\" error, but the file is still uploaded and stored locally in /opt/zimbra/data/tmp/upload/, leaving it open to possible remote execution.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.0},"cwes":["CWE-434"],"references":["https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Security_Center","https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Zimbra_Releases/9.0.0/P3","https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Zimbra_Security_Advisories","https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Security_Center","https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Zimbra_Releases/9.0.0/P3"],"products":["synacor:zimbra_collaboration_suite"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:05:42.039641217+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2020-12846","score":0.02624,"percentile":0.85478,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
