There is shell metacharacter injection via attributes to an open-audit/configuration/ URI. An attacker can exploit this by adding an excluded IP address to the global discovery settings (internally called exclude_ip). This exclude_ip value is passed to the exec function in the discoveries_helper.php file (inside the all_ip_list function) without being filtered, which means that the attacker can provide a payload instead of a valid IP address.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-78"],"references":["http://packetstormsecurity.com/files/157477/Open-AudIT-Professional-3.3.1-Remote-Code-Execution.html","https://gist.github.com/mhaskar/dca62d0f0facc13f6364b8ed88d5a7fd","https://github.com/Opmantek/open-audit/commit/6ffc7f9032c55eaa1c37cf5e070809b7211c7e9a","https://shells.systems/open-audit-v3-3-1-remote-command-execution-cve-2020-12078/","http://packetstormsecurity.com/files/157477/Open-AudIT-Professional-3.3.1-Remote-Code-Execution.html"],"products":["opmantek:open-audit"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:04:18.695612450+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2020-12078","score":0.09999,"percentile":0.9561,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
