A remote attacker can replay a sniffed Digest Authentication nonce to gain access to resources that are otherwise forbidden. This occurs because the attacker can overflow the nonce reference counter (a short integer). Remote code execution may occur if the pooled token credentials are freed (instead of replayed as valid credentials).","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-190"],"references":["http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2020-05/msg00018.html","http://master.squid-cache.org/Versions/v4/changesets/squid-4-eeebf0f37a72a2de08348e85ae34b02c34e9a811.patch","http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2020/04/23/2","http://www.squid-cache.org/Versions/v4/changesets/squid-4-eeebf0f37a72a2de08348e85ae34b02c34e9a811.patch","https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1170313"],"products":["canonical:ubuntu_linux","debian:debian_linux","fedoraproject:fedora","opensuse:leap","squid-cache:squid"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:04:18.695612450+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2020-11945","score":0.27246,"percentile":0.98058,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
