This could be sent to the ingress gateway or a sidecar, triggering a null pointer exception which results in a denial of service. This also affects servicemesh-proxy where a null pointer exception flaw was found in servicemesh-proxy. When running Telemetry v2 (not on by default in version 1.4.x), an attacker could send a specially crafted packet to the ingress gateway or proxy sidecar, triggering a denial of service.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-476"],"references":["https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=CVE-2020-10739","https://github.com/istio/envoy/commit/8788a3cf255b647fd14e6b5e2585abaaedb28153#diff-fcf2cf5dd389b5285f882ba4a8708633","https://istio.io/news/security/istio-security-2020-005/","https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=CVE-2020-10739","https://github.com/istio/envoy/commit/8788a3cf255b647fd14e6b5e2585abaaedb28153#diff-fcf2cf5dd389b5285f882ba4a8708633"],"products":["istio:istio"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:05:42.039641217+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2020-10739","score":0.02389,"percentile":0.83962,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
