{"cve":"CVE-2020-10711","nvd":{"published":"2020-05-22T15:15:11.207","modified":"2026-06-17T02:48:17.860","status":"Modified","description":"A NULL pointer dereference flaw was found in the Linux kernel's SELinux subsystem in versions before 5.7. This flaw occurs while importing the Commercial IP Security Option (CIPSO) protocol's category bitmap into the SELinux extensible bitmap via the' ebitmap_netlbl_import' routine. While processing the CIPSO restricted bitmap tag in the 'cipso_v4_parsetag_rbm' routine, it sets the security attribute to indicate that the category bitmap is present, even if it has not been allocated. This issue leads to a NULL pointer dereference issue while importing the same category bitmap into SELinux. This flaw allows a remote network user to crash the system kernel, resulting in a denial of service.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.9},"cwes":["CWE-476"],"references":["http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2020-06/msg00022.html","http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2020-07/msg00008.html","https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=CVE-2020-10711","https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2020/06/msg00012.html","https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20200608-0001/"],"products":["canonical:ubuntu_linux","debian:debian_linux","linux:linux_kernel","opensuse:leap","redhat:3scale","redhat:enterprise_linux","redhat:enterprise_linux_aus","redhat:enterprise_linux_server_tus","redhat:messaging_realtime_grid","redhat:openstack","redhat:virtualization_host"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:05:42.039641217+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2020-10711","score":0.03083,"percentile":0.87694,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
