{"cve":"CVE-2019-9039","nvd":{"published":"2019-06-26T19:15:11.680","modified":"2026-06-17T02:42:58.327","status":"Modified","description":"In Couchbase Sync Gateway 2.1.2, an attacker with access to the Sync Gateway’s public REST API was able to issue additional N1QL statements and extract sensitive data or call arbitrary N1QL functions through the parameters \"startkey\" and \"endkey\" on the \"_all_docs\" endpoint. By issuing nested queries with CPU-intensive operations they may have been able to cause increased resource usage and denial of service conditions. The _all_docs endpoint is not required for Couchbase Mobile replication and external access to this REST endpoint has been blocked to mitigate this issue. This issue has been fixed in versions 2.5.0 and 2.1.3.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.0","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-89"],"references":["https://docs.couchbase.com/sync-gateway/2.5/release-notes.html","https://research.hisolutions.com/2019/06/n1ql-injection-in-couchbase-sync-gateway-cve-2019-9039/","https://www.couchbase.com/resources/security#SecurityAlerts","https://docs.couchbase.com/sync-gateway/2.5/release-notes.html","https://research.hisolutions.com/2019/06/n1ql-injection-in-couchbase-sync-gateway-cve-2019-9039/"],"products":["couchbase:sync_gateway"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:57:00.690689396+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2019-9039","score":0.02741,"percentile":0.86168,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-g622-r636-qfqh","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-g622-r636-qfqh","summary":"SQL Injection in Couchbase Sync Gateway","modified":"2023-11-08T04:01:46.370526Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/couchbase/sync_gateway","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/couchbase/sync_gateway","ranges":["<2.5.0"],"fixed":["2.5.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
