The issue occurs when the attacker sends an arbitrary input to a \"PingTest\" device common gateway interface that could lead to common injection. An attacker who successfully triggers the command injection could achieve full system compromise. Later, it was independently found that these are also affected: DIR-855L, DAP-1533, DIR-862L, DIR-615, DIR-835, and DIR-825.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-78"],"references":["https://fortiguard.com/zeroday/FG-VD-19-117","https://medium.com/%4080vul/determine-the-device-model-affected-by-cve-2019-16920-by-zoomeye-bf6fec7f9bb3","https://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/766427","https://www.seebug.org/vuldb/ssvid-98079","https://fortiguard.com/zeroday/FG-VD-19-117"],"products":["dlink:dap-1533_firmware","dlink:dhp-1565_firmware","dlink:dir-615_firmware","dlink:dir-652_firmware","dlink:dir-655_firmware","dlink:dir-825_firmware","dlink:dir-835_firmware","dlink:dir-855l_firmware","dlink:dir-862l_firmware","dlink:dir-866l_firmware"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:59:10.855360465+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2019-16920","score":0.99996,"percentile":0.99989,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":{"cve":"CVE-2019-16920","date_added":"2022-03-25","due_date":"2022-04-15","vendor":"D-Link","product":"Multiple Routers","known_ransomware":false},"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
