The attacker must have either a valid credential or an active session token. The vulnerability is due to lack of input validation of the HTTP payload. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a malicious HTTP request to the web-based management interface of the targeted device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute commands with root privileges.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-502"],"references":["https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-20191106-sbrv-cmd-x","https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-20191106-sbrv-cmd-x","https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog?field_cve=CVE-2019-15271"],"products":["cisco:rv016_multi-wan_vpn_firmware","cisco:rv042_dual_wan_vpn_firmware","cisco:rv042g_dual_gigabit_wan_vpn_firmware","cisco:rv082_dual_wan_vpn_firmware"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:59:25.448946135+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2019-15271","score":0.05488,"percentile":0.92776,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":{"cve":"CVE-2019-15271","date_added":"2022-06-08","due_date":"2022-06-22","vendor":"Cisco","product":"RV Series Routers","known_ransomware":false},"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
