The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a system crash, resulting in a denial of service, or execute arbitrary code. The highest threat with this vulnerability is with the availability of the system. If code execution occurs, the code will run with the permissions of root. This will affect both confidentiality and integrity of files on the system.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-122","CWE-400","CWE-787"],"references":["http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2019-12/msg00029.html","http://packetstormsecurity.com/files/155879/Kernel-Live-Patch-Security-Notice-LSN-0061-1.html","http://packetstormsecurity.com/files/156185/Kernel-Live-Patch-Security-Notice-LSN-0062-1.html","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2020:0204","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2020:0328"],"products":["canonical:ubuntu_linux","debian:debian_linux","fedoraproject:fedora","linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:59:27.069234358+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2019-14901","score":0.16473,"percentile":0.96988,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
