{"cve":"CVE-2019-13161","nvd":{"published":"2019-07-12T20:15:11.127","modified":"2026-06-17T02:16:11.463","status":"Modified","description":"An issue was discovered in Asterisk Open Source through 13.27.0, 14.x and 15.x through 15.7.2, and 16.x through 16.4.0, and Certified Asterisk through 13.21-cert3. A pointer dereference in chan_sip while handling SDP negotiation allows an attacker to crash Asterisk when handling an SDP answer to an outgoing T.38 re-invite. To exploit this vulnerability an attacker must cause the chan_sip module to send a T.38 re-invite request to them. Upon receipt, the attacker must send an SDP answer containing both a T.38 UDPTL stream and another media stream containing only a codec (which is not permitted according to the chan_sip configuration).","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-476"],"references":["http://downloads.digium.com/pub/security/AST-2019-003.html","https://issues.asterisk.org/jira/browse/ASTERISK-28465","https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2019/11/msg00038.html","https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2022/04/msg00001.html","http://downloads.digium.com/pub/security/AST-2019-003.html"],"products":["debian:debian_linux","digium:asterisk","digium:certified_asterisk"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:58:11.797917892+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2019-13161","score":0.04013,"percentile":0.90563,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
