{"cve":"CVE-2019-1222","nvd":{"published":"2019-08-14T21:15:18.610","modified":"2026-06-17T02:28:06.980","status":"Modified","description":"A remote code execution vulnerability exists in Remote Desktop Services – formerly known as Terminal Services – when an unauthenticated attacker connects to the target system using RDP and sends specially crafted requests. This vulnerability is pre-authentication and requires no user interaction. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could execute arbitrary code on the target system. An attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights.\nTo exploit this vulnerability, an attacker would need to send a specially crafted request to the target systems Remote Desktop Service via RDP.\nThe update addresses the vulnerability by correcting how Remote Desktop Services handles connection requests.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":[],"references":["http://www.huawei.com/en/psirt/security-advisories/huawei-sa-20190819-01-windows-en","https://cert-portal.siemens.com/productcert/pdf/ssa-187667.pdf","https://portal.msrc.microsoft.com/en-US/security-guidance/advisory/CVE-2019-1222","http://www.huawei.com/en/psirt/security-advisories/huawei-sa-20190819-01-windows-en","https://cert-portal.siemens.com/productcert/pdf/ssa-187667.pdf"],"products":["microsoft:windows_10","microsoft:windows_server_2016","microsoft:windows_server_2019"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:58:39.700375520+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2019-1222","score":0.07586,"percentile":0.94539,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
