This allows a remote peer to fragment TCP resend queues significantly more than if a larger MSS were enforced. A remote attacker could use this to cause a denial of service. This has been fixed in stable kernel releases 4.4.182, 4.9.182, 4.14.127, 4.19.52, 5.1.11, and is fixed in commits 967c05aee439e6e5d7d805e195b3a20ef5c433d6 and 5f3e2bf008c2221478101ee72f5cb4654b9fc363.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-770","CWE-405"],"references":["http://www.arubanetworks.com/assets/alert/ARUBA-PSA-2020-010.txt","http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2019/06/28/2","http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2019/07/06/3","http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2019/07/06/4","http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/108818"],"products":["canonical:ubuntu_linux","f5:big-ip_access_policy_manager","f5:big-ip_advanced_firewall_manager","f5:big-ip_analytics","f5:big-ip_application_acceleration_manager","f5:big-ip_application_security_manager","f5:big-ip_domain_name_system","f5:big-ip_edge_gateway","f5:big-ip_fraud_protection_service","f5:big-ip_global_traffic_manager","f5:big-ip_link_controller","f5:big-ip_local_traffic_manager","f5:big-ip_policy_enforcement_manager","f5:big-ip_webaccelerator","f5:big-iq_centralized_management","f5:enterprise_manager","f5:iworkflow","f5:traffix_signaling_delivery_controller","linux:linux_kernel","redhat:enterprise_linux","redhat:virtualization_host"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:57:00.690689396+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2019-11479","score":0.9166,"percentile":0.99814,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
