{"cve":"CVE-2018-17194","nvd":{"published":"2018-12-19T14:29:00.440","modified":"2026-06-17T01:45:31.010","status":"Modified","description":"When a client request to a cluster node was replicated to other nodes in the cluster for verification, the Content-Length was forwarded. On a DELETE request, the body was ignored, but if the initial request had a Content-Length value other than 0, the receiving nodes would wait for the body and eventually timeout. Mitigation: The fix to check DELETE requests and overwrite non-zero Content-Length header values was applied on the Apache NiFi 1.8.0 release. Users running a prior 1.x release should upgrade to the appropriate release.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.0","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-20"],"references":["https://nifi.apache.org/security.html#CVE-2018-17194","https://nifi.apache.org/security.html#CVE-2018-17194"],"products":["apache:nifi"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:54:36.112582389+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2018-17194","score":0.0297,"percentile":0.87246,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-43fp-vwwg-qgv6","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-43fp-vwwg-qgv6","summary":"Apache NiFi Improper Input Validation vulnerability","modified":"2024-03-04T21:49:21.756507Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"org.apache.nifi:nifi-framework-cluster","purl":"pkg:maven/org.apache.nifi/nifi-framework-cluster","ranges":[">=1.0.0 <1.8.0"],"fixed":["1.8.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
