The vulnerability is due to improper handling of XML External Entity (XXE) entries when parsing certain XML files. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by convincing a user of an affected system to import a crafted XML file with malicious entries, which could allow the attacker to read and write files within the affected application.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.0","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":7.3},"cwes":["CWE-611"],"references":["http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/105860","https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-20181107-ems-xml-xxe","https://www.tenable.com/security/research/tra-2018-36","http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/105860","https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-20181107-ems-xml-xxe"],"products":["cisco:energy_management_suite_software"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:53:59.789560037+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2018-15444","score":0.02008,"percentile":0.80844,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
