If an affected version of libpq was used with \"host\" or \"hostaddr\" connection parameters from untrusted input, attackers could bypass client-side connection security features, obtain access to higher privileged connections or potentially cause other impact through SQL injection, by causing the PQescape() functions to malfunction. Postgresql versions before 10.5, 9.6.10, 9.5.14, 9.4.19, and 9.3.24 are affected.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.0","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-89","CWE-200","CWE-665"],"references":["http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2020-08/msg00043.html","http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/105054","http://www.securitytracker.com/id/1041446","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:2511","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:2557"],"products":["canonical:ubuntu_linux","debian:debian_linux","postgresql:postgresql","redhat:enterprise_linux_desktop","redhat:enterprise_linux_server","redhat:enterprise_linux_server_eus","redhat:enterprise_linux_workstation","redhat:openstack","redhat:virtualization"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:52:03.425131697+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2018-10915","score":0.05089,"percentile":0.92354,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
