During the stack switch operation, the processor did not deliver interrupts and exceptions, rather they are delivered once the first instruction after the stack switch is executed. An unprivileged KVM guest user could use this flaw to crash the guest or, potentially, escalate their privileges in the guest.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.0","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.8},"cwes":["CWE-250"],"references":["http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2018/05/08/5","http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/104127","http://www.securitytracker.com/id/1040862","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:1318","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:1345"],"products":["canonical:ubuntu_linux","debian:debian_linux","linux:linux_kernel","redhat:enterprise_linux","redhat:enterprise_linux_desktop","redhat:enterprise_linux_server","redhat:enterprise_linux_server_aus","redhat:enterprise_linux_server_eus","redhat:enterprise_linux_server_tus","redhat:enterprise_linux_virtualization","redhat:enterprise_linux_workstation"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:50:40.212176939+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2018-1087","score":0.00743,"percentile":0.54728,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
