In VM environments where the IP is easy to predict, the attacker can use DNS rebinding to indirectly make requests to the Kubernetes Dashboard, create a new Kubernetes Deployment running arbitrary code. If minikube mount is in use, the attacker could also directly access the host filesystem.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.0","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-352"],"references":["https://github.com/kubernetes/minikube/issues/3208","https://github.com/kubernetes/minikube/issues/3208"],"products":["kubernetes:minikube"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:54:36.112582389+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2018-1002103","score":0.00702,"percentile":0.53286,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-6pcv-qqx4-mxm3","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-6pcv-qqx4-mxm3","summary":"Minikube RCE via DNS Rebinding","modified":"2024-08-20T20:58:33.372871Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"k8s.io/minikube","purl":"pkg:golang/k8s.io/minikube","ranges":[">=0.3.0 <=0.29.0"],"fixed":[]}]},{"id":"GO-2023-1961","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2023-1961","summary":"Minikube RCE via DNS Rebinding in k8s.io/minikube","modified":"2026-03-03T04:54:02.544492Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"k8s.io/minikube","purl":"pkg:golang/k8s.io/minikube","ranges":[">=0.3.0"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
