{"cve":"CVE-2018-0449","nvd":{"published":"2019-01-10T16:29:00.240","modified":"2026-06-17T01:30:50.033","status":"Modified","description":"A vulnerability in the Cisco Jabber Client Framework (JCF) software, installed as part of the Cisco Jabber for Mac client, could allow an authenticated, local attacker to corrupt arbitrary files on an affected device that has elevated privileges. The vulnerability exists due to insecure directory permissions set on a JCF created directory. An authenticated attacker with the ability to access an affected directory could create a hard link to an arbitrary location on the affected system. An attacker could convince another user that has administrative privileges to perform an install or update the Cisco Jabber for Mac client to perform such actions, allowing files to be created in an arbitrary location on the disk or an arbitrary file to be corrupted when it is appended to or overwritten.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N","score":4.2},"cwes":["CWE-732","CWE-275"],"references":["http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/106520","https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-20190109-jabr-mac-permissions","http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/106520","https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-20190109-jabr-mac-permissions"],"products":["cisco:jabber"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:54:36.112582389+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2018-0449","score":0.00277,"percentile":0.20148,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
