To exploit the vulnerability, the attacker must authenticate with valid local user credentials. This vulnerability is due to improper implementation of file system permissions, which could allow non-administrative users to place files within restricted directories. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by placing an executable file within the restricted directory, which when executed by the ERC client, would run with Administrator privileges.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.0","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.8},"cwes":["CWE-269","CWE-264"],"references":["http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/105292","https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-20180905-umbrella-priv","https://www.exploit-db.com/exploits/45339/","http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/105292","https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-20180905-umbrella-priv"],"products":["cisco:umbrella_enterprise_roaming_client","cisco:umbrella_roaming_module"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:53:14.491561039+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2018-0437","score":0.01516,"percentile":0.74534,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
