The Project Protection feature is used to prevent unauthorized users from opening an XML protected project file, by prompting the user for a password. This XML file is AES-CBC encrypted; however, the key used for encryption (SoMachineBasicSoMachineBasicSoMa) cannot be changed. After decrypting the XML file with this key, the user password can be found in the decrypted data. After reading the user password, the project can be opened and modified with the Schneider product.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-798","CWE-321"],"references":["http://download.schneider-electric.com/files?p_Doc_Ref=SEVD-2017-097-01","http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/97518","https://os-s.net/advisories/OSS-2017-02.pdf","http://download.schneider-electric.com/files?p_Doc_Ref=SEVD-2017-097-01","http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/97518"],"products":["schneider-electric:modicon_tm221ce16r_firmware","schneider-electric:somachine"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:42:09.859288039+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2017-7574","score":0.01278,"percentile":0.69993,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
