This may result in escalated privileges and unauthorized data access. While this activity is audit logged and can be easily associated with the authenticated user, this is still a serious security issue. All users are recommended to upgrade to the Apache Knox 0.12.0 release.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":6.8},"cwes":["CWE-346"],"references":["http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/knox-user/201705.mbox/%3CCACRbFyjtT7QQGHUzTRdbJoySbJb7tt4BDk5-r-VRn0GB0Kgvag%40mail.gmail.com%3E","http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/98739","https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/rcd6bcbcc08840d4e4bea661efe9a5ef8f6126ebbbc5bc266701d8f48%40%3Cdev.logging.apache.org%3E","http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/knox-user/201705.mbox/%3CCACRbFyjtT7QQGHUzTRdbJoySbJb7tt4BDk5-r-VRn0GB0Kgvag%40mail.gmail.com%3E","http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/98739"],"products":["apache:knox"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:43:44.556243339+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2017-5646","score":0.00752,"percentile":0.55048,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-g3fc-8jv4-qmmv","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-g3fc-8jv4-qmmv","summary":"Apache Knox allows impersonation of users","modified":"2025-04-22T20:27:08.885972Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"org.apache.knox:gateway-provider-identity-assertion-common","purl":"pkg:maven/org.apache.knox/gateway-provider-identity-assertion-common","ranges":[">=0.2.0 <0.12.0"],"fixed":["0.12.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
