This is associated with misinterpretion of an empty RPATH/RUNPATH token as the \"./\" directory. NOTE: this configuration of RPATH/RUNPATH for a privileged program is apparently very uncommon; most likely, no such program is shipped with any common Linux distribution.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.0","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.8},"cwes":["CWE-426"],"references":["http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/102228","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHBA-2019:0327","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2018:3092","https://bugs.debian.org/884615","https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=22625"],"products":["gnu:glibc","redhat:enterprise_linux_desktop","redhat:enterprise_linux_server","redhat:enterprise_linux_workstation"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:47:56.471723566+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2017-16997","score":0.02895,"percentile":0.86923,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
