{"cve":"CVE-2017-15702","nvd":{"published":"2017-12-01T15:29:00.260","modified":"2026-06-17T01:08:07.460","status":"Modified","description":"In Apache Qpid Broker-J 0.18 through 0.32, if the broker is configured with different authentication providers on different ports one of which is an HTTP port, then the broker can be tricked by a remote unauthenticated attacker connecting to the HTTP port into using an authentication provider that was configured on a different port. The attacker still needs valid credentials with the authentication provider on the spoofed port. This becomes an issue when the spoofed port has weaker authentication protection (e.g., anonymous access, default accounts) and is normally protected by firewall rules or similar which can be circumvented by this vulnerability. AMQP ports are not affected. Versions 6.0.0 and newer are not affected.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":[],"references":["http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/102040","https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/QPID-8039","https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/59d241e30db23b8b0af26bb273f789aa1f08515d3dc1a3868d3ba090%40%3Cdev.qpid.apache.org%3E","https://qpid.apache.org/cves/CVE-2017-15702.html","http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/102040"],"products":["apache:qpid_broker-j"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:47:01.408438353+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2017-15702","score":0.06214,"percentile":0.93528,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-269m-695x-j34p","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-269m-695x-j34p","summary":"Apache Qpid Broker vulnerable to authentication port spoofing","modified":"2024-12-03T05:56:23.482137Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"org.apache.qpid:qpid-broker","purl":"pkg:maven/org.apache.qpid/qpid-broker","ranges":[">=0.18 <6.0.0"],"fixed":["6.0.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
