{"cve":"CVE-2017-14315","nvd":{"published":"2017-09-12T15:29:00.190","modified":"2026-06-17T01:05:56.330","status":"Modified","description":"In Apple iOS 7 through 9, due to a BlueBorne flaw in the implementation of LEAP (Low Energy Audio Protocol), a large audio command can be sent to a targeted device and lead to a heap overflow with attacker-controlled data. Since the audio commands sent via LEAP are not properly validated, an attacker can use this overflow to gain full control of the device through the relatively high privileges of the Bluetooth stack in iOS. The attack bypasses Bluetooth access control; however, the default \"Bluetooth On\" value must be present in Settings.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.0","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:A/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-119"],"references":["http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2019/May/24","http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/100816","https://seclists.org/bugtraq/2019/May/30","https://support.apple.com/kb/HT210121","https://www.armis.com/blueborne"],"products":["apple:iphone_os"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:46:01.145313090+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2017-14315","score":0.00996,"percentile":0.62713,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
