{"cve":"CVE-2016-6910","nvd":{"published":"2016-12-23T16:59:00.147","modified":"2026-06-17T00:51:58.783","status":"Modified","description":"The non-existent notification listener vulnerability was introduced in the initial Android 5.0.2 builds for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge devices, but the vulnerability can persist on the device even after the device has been upgraded to an Android 5.1.1 or 6.0.1 build. The vulnerable system app gives a non-existent app the ability to read the notifications from the device, which a third-party app can utilize if it uses a package name of com.samsung.android.app.portalservicewidget. This vulnerability allows an unprivileged third-party app to obtain the text of the user's notifications, which tend to contain personal data.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.0","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-200"],"references":["http://www.kryptowire.com/disclosures/CVE-2016-6910/Factory_Resets_and_Obtaining_Notifications_on_Samsung_Android_Devices.pdf","http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/95092","http://www.kryptowire.com/disclosures/CVE-2016-6910/Factory_Resets_and_Obtaining_Notifications_on_Samsung_Android_Devices.pdf","http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/95092"],"products":["google:android"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:41:25.729257544+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2016-6910","score":0.00342,"percentile":0.27793,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
