{"cve":"CVE-2013-4576","nvd":{"published":"2013-12-20T21:55:06.930","modified":"2026-06-16T23:57:28.957","status":"Modified","description":"GnuPG 1.x before 1.4.16 generates RSA keys using sequences of introductions with certain patterns that introduce a side channel, which allows physically proximate attackers to extract RSA keys via a chosen-ciphertext attack and acoustic cryptanalysis during decryption. NOTE: applications are not typically expected to protect themselves from acoustic side-channel attacks, since this is arguably the responsibility of the physical device. Accordingly, issues of this type would not normally receive a CVE identifier. However, for this issue, the developer has specified a security policy in which GnuPG should offer side-channel resistance, and developer-specified security-policy violations are within the scope of CVE.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-255"],"references":["http://lists.gnupg.org/pipermail/gnupg-devel/2013-December/028102.html","http://osvdb.org/101170","http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2014-0016.html","http://seclists.org/oss-sec/2013/q4/520","http://seclists.org/oss-sec/2013/q4/523"],"products":["gnupg:gnupg"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T20:30:15.895642412+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2013-4576","score":0.00451,"percentile":0.39237,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
