{"cve":"CVE-2010-20108","nvd":{"published":"2025-08-21T21:15:33.780","modified":"2026-06-16T23:19:45.877","status":"Deferred","description":"FTPPad <= 1.2.0 contains a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in its FTP directory listing parser. When the client connects to an FTP server and receives a crafted response to a LIST command containing an excessively long directory and filename, the application fails to properly validate input length. This results in a buffer overflow that overwrites the saved Extended Instruction Pointer (EIP), allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary code.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.4},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-121"],"references":["https://raw.githubusercontent.com/rapid7/metasploit-framework/master/modules/exploits/windows/ftp/ftppad_list_reply.rb","https://web.archive.org/web/20111016194057/https://www.corelan.be/index.php/2010/10/12/death-of-an-ftp-client/","https://www.chip.de/downloads/FTPPad_12993921.html","https://www.exploit-db.com/exploits/16726","https://www.vulncheck.com/advisories/ftppad-stack-buffer-overflow"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:07:46.309729541+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2010-20108","score":0.00585,"percentile":0.4797,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
