{"cve":"CVE-2003-0249","nvd":{"published":"2003-12-31T05:00:00.000","modified":"2026-06-16T22:01:50.110","status":"Modified","description":"PHP treats unknown methods such as \"PoSt\" as a GET request, which could allow attackers to intended access restrictions if PHP is running on a server that passes on all methods, such as Apache httpd 2.0, as demonstrated using a Limit directive. NOTE: this issue has been disputed by the Apache security team, saying \"It is by design that PHP allows scripts to process any request method. A script which does not explicitly verify the request method will hence be processed as normal for arbitrary methods. It is therefore expected behaviour that one cannot implement per-method access control using the Apache configuration alone, which is the assumption made in this report.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":[],"references":["http://www.idefense.com/intelligence/vulnerabilities/display.php?id=97","http://www.idefense.com/intelligence/vulnerabilities/display.php?id=97"],"products":["php:php"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T19:35:54.859949650+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2003-0249","score":0.01231,"percentile":0.68971,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
